An international container port will be built in Hanoi’s suburban district of Gia Lam at a cost of over 100 billion VND (4.76 million USD).

The Ministry of Construction has now given the proposal from the municipal authorities the go-ahead for the project.

The construction of the port is in line with the country’s plans to develop Hanoi up until 2030 with a view to 2050.

The 30ha port will operate as an integral part of Hai Phong’s port in the north.
