Thanks to good weather and a decrease in insect numbers, watermelon trees have developed well with a large output.
According to Nguyen Tan Son, a local farmer in My Loc Commune, Can Giuoc District, farmers can make a profit of 100 million VND per hectare of watermelon crop.
This is the first time, farmers in Can Giuoc District have applied the new production process in growing watermelons, said Bui Huu Dung, an official in charge of agriculture in the district.
The district has cooperated with the Syngenta Company to help local farmers to grow the new kind of high quality watermelon.
