The project, invested by BCG Energy through the BCG – Khai Long 1 Wind Power JSC with a total investment of over 6.32 trillion VND (about 240 million USD), has a designed capacity of 100 MW. It covers a total area of 480.73 ha, including 454 ha offshore and 26.73 ha on land.

The first phase of the project includes 16 wind turbines with a capacity of about 6.25 MW each, a 35/110kV transformer station and a 24km double-circuit 110kV transmission line connecting to the Nam Can 220kV substation.
Pham Thi Mai Phuong, Deputy General Director of BCG Energy, said the project is scheduled for implementation through April 2028, with commercial operation expected to begin in May 2028.
Once operational, the wind farm is expected to supply about 253 GWh of clean electricity annually to the national grid, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by roughly 167,000 tons each year, and contribute 40–50 billion VND to the provincial budget annually.
Phuong said the company is committed to mobilizing adequate resources to ensure the project is carried out safely, on schedule and in compliance with legal regulations.
The project aligns with Vietnam's renewable energy development orientation, National Power Development Plan VIII (PDP8), and Ca Mau's policies to promote renewable and green energy infrastructure, Phuong said, acknowledging provincial authorities' support in facilitating legal procedures and site clearance.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen said Ca Mau, blessed with a long coastline and favorable wind conditions, considers renewable energy development as a key driver of economic growth, contributing to greenhouse gas emission reduction and national energy security.
Alongside infrastructure development, Ca Mau has continued to improve its investment climate and regard their satisfaction as the yardstick of governance efficiency, he said.
The official pledged continued support for the investor to ensure the project proceeds on schedule.
In the first half of this year, Ca Mau started construction of three wind power projects with a total investment of nearly 8 trillion VND in Long Dien and Dong Hai communes.
