The Rong Do Company in HCM City is planning to increase the volume of its dragon fruit exports to the US due to the market’s rising consumer power.
From May, the company will export two additional containers per week by sea and 10-20 more containers per month by air.
Currently, it exports around six containers (approximately 77 tonnes of dragon fruit) by sea and 10 containers (around 9 tonnes) by air per month.
Apart from the US market, the company is expected to export fresh dragon fruit to Japan and link up with farmers in Binh Thuan, Long An, Tien Giang, Tay Ninh and Dong Nai to grow white and red fleshed dragon fruit to Viet Gap and Global Gap standards.
