Vietnamese dragon fruit will be exported to the Republic of Korea (RoK) at the end of this year, said Nguyen Xuan Hong, head of the Plant Protection Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

A delegation of RoK experts recently took a fact-finding tour to Vietnam to inspect the area where dragon fruit is grown, and the processing system in Long An and Tien Giang provinces.

According to RoK experts, Vietnamese dragon fruit meets the standards for food hygiene and safety. The RoK banned the import of this fruit earlier due to concerns about safety.

With such positive results, Vietnamese dragon fruit will have the opportunity to penetrate the RoK market in addition to the Japanese and US markets.
