Binh Duong records positive export growth
Export turnover of southern Binh Duong province reached USD 6.36 billion in the first quarter of 2017, a year-on-year rise of 16.1 percent, according to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.

Of the amount, the domestic economic area contributed USD 1.14 billion, up 8.4 percent, while the foreign-invested economic sector accounted for USD 5.22 billion, up 16.8 percent.
Main export products seeing high exports included wooden products (USD 894.6 million), garment (USD 741 million) and leather and footwear (USD 575 million).
In March alone, the province’s export earnings rose 9.5 percent to USD 2.15 billion. The domestic economic sector contributed USD 359.2 million and the foreign-invested sector was USD 1.79 billion.
Meanwhile, Binh Duong imported USD 4.66 billion of goods in the January-March period, up 14.9 percent. In March alone, import was valued at USD 1.6 billion.
