Binh Minh Export Rattan Curtain Cooperative in Ho Chi Minh City has signed a contract to export 4,000 rattan to France this August, at the cost of between VND 140,000 to 200,000 each, said Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen, head of the Cooperative.
The Cooperative has also signed recently a contract with its Canadian partner to deliver more than 3,000 rattan curtains decorated with natural scenery late next month.
Mr. Nguyen said due to the lack of capital the Cooperative could not fulfil some big orders from customers in Australia, USA and Europe.
At present, raw materials for a rattan curtain costs VND 80,000, up 50% in comparison with early 2010. The Cooperative could only accept small orders with short delivery time to avoid risks.
