Receiving Chairman and CEO of The Asia Group Kurt Campbell, who also formerly served as US Assistant Secretary of State, Deputy PM Minh hoped US enterprises will enhance their presence in Vietnam, particularly in the field of startup.
Vietnam always treasures the cooperative ties with the US, he said, adding both sides have already set up the comprehensive partnership and are celebrating their 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2020.
He laid a stress on Vietnam’s efforts in improving the trade balance between the two nations, expressing his wish that both sides will promote bilateral trade in the time ahead.
Vietnam is currently the 27th largest importer, and the 16th biggest trade partner of the US, he added.
Campbell, for his part, said he was leading a delegation of US firms to Vietnam to study cooperation and investment opportunities in the nation.
Meanwhile, members of the delegation said they support the cooperation between the two countries, and show their interest in investing in various sectors in Vietnam.
On the occasion, both sides discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.
