Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen Dinh Hoang Linh said the Vietnam Exhibition was an economic diplomacy activity combined with cultural diplomacy, held towards the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Thailand diplomatic relations (August 6, 1976 - 2026).
He said the event also contributed to implementing agreements reached during the official visit to Thailand by General Secretary and President To Lam, thereby promoting the Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a more substantive and effective manner.
Khon Kaen Deputy Governor Yutthaporn Pirunsan praised Vietnam’s first participation in a large-scale trade fair in the locality, describing it as a meaningful activity to strengthen economic cooperation, people-to-people exchanges and friendship between the two countries.
During the three-day event, the Vietnam Exhibition attracted thousands of visitors. Several Vietnamese and Thai enterprises signed memoranda of understanding on cooperation in import-export, tourism and logistics.
The organizers expressed their hope that the event will create further cooperation opportunities and contribute to achieving the target of raising bilateral trade turnover to USD 25 billion in the near future.
