Vietnam Airlines becomes official carrier of German state
PANO - The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, has officially become an official carrier for the government of the German state of Hessen on trips from Germany to all destinations operated by the carrier, according to a cooperation agreement signed on September 7 between the airline and the World University Service (WUS).
Hessen state’s Minister of Sciences and Arts Boris Rhein and the state’s parliamentary members witnessed the signing ceremony.
Right after the ceremony, Boris Rhein and the parliamentary members got on board a Boeing 787-9 to fly from Frankfurt to Ho Chi Minh City to attend the tenth founding anniversary of Viet Duc University in the Southern province of Binh Duong.
The German official expressed his satisfaction at the airline’s service quality and spoke highly of Vietnam Airlines’ contribution to promoting the cooperation between the government of Hessen state and Vietnam.
According to Nguyen Hong Linh, Consul General of Vietnam in Frankfurt, maintaining and tightening the relationship with Hessen is meaningful.
Linh also acknowledged Vietnam Airlines’ cooperation with the Vietnamese embassy and consulate general to develop the ties between Vietnam and Germany.
The Hessen government’s and WUS’s choice of Vietnam Airlines as an official carrier has confirmed international partners’ trust in the airline’s service quality and professionalism and helped raise the airline’s prestige and position in Europe, a market with high demand on services.
According to Nguyen Huu Trang, trade counselor of the Vietnamese embassy to Germany, as of July this year, Germany has had 304 FDI projects in Vietnam, with the total registered capital of more than USD 1.8 billion. Germany has ranked 20th among 129 countries investing in Vietnam. Trang also stressed huge potential for further economic cooperation between the two countries.
