Trade fair popularizes Vietnam’s shrimp industry
PANO – The VietShrimp International Fair 2018 opened at Cao Van Lau Theater and Fine Art and Culture Exhibition Center in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu from April 27-29.
This was the second fair of its type and was entitled “Renewal for success”, co-organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Directorate of Fisheries, the Vietnam Fisheries Society (VINAFIS), and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Lieu province.

The fair attracted nearly 150 booths from 100 domestic and international enterprises to introduce production of seeds, production of feeds for shrimp, veterinary drugs, biological products, and technology, equipment, and machinery for the shrimp industry amongst others.
Highlights of the event were seminars on the application of high technologies in shrimp farming and the sustainable development of shrimp breeding.
The fair offered the participants an opportunity to expand production and commercial activities; meet managers, experts, scientists, businesses, and leading providers in the shrimp industry at home and abroad; update new developments and trends of Vietnam’s shrimp industry; and experience the development of shrimp farming industry in Vietnam through tours to the farming areas.
In particular, the event provided a platform for shrimp farmers in Bac Lieu, the Mekong Delta region, and the country as well to unite and find the best solutions for the sustainable development of the Vietnamese shrimp industry.
