Bahrain, which boasts huge oil reserves and is a financial center of the Middle East, has various favorable policies to attract foreign investors, including those from Vietnam, he noted.

He said that the ASEAN-Bahrain Business Council was established in 2017 to bolster business ties as well as exchanges in trade, sports, tourism and culture between Bahrain and the ASEAN member states.

The council’s delegation is on Vietnam’s visit to attend a trade fair in Hanoi and seek trade cooperation opportunities in the country, he added.

For his part, the Ho Chi Minh City Vice Chairman applauded Bahrain’s initiative to open a trade representative office in the southern hub, expressing his hope that the visit will help bolster trade ties between the two countries in general and between Bahrain and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

Ho Chi Minh City welcomes Bahrain businesses to join its smart city projects, he said, adding that the city always rolls out red carpet for Bahrain firms to land long-term investment in the city.
