Send-off ceremony for Vietnamese sports delegation to SEA Games 31
PANO - A send-off ceremony for the Vietnamese sports delegation to the upcoming 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) was held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Hanoi on April 28.
The event was attended by Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, among others.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Director of the National Sports Administration (NSA) and head of the Vietnamese sports delegation Tran Duc Phan, held that the Vietnamese delegation with 1,341 members will take part in 508 out of 526 events of SEA Games 31. The delegation will strive to clinch at least 140 gold medals and rank at the top of the participating countries, especially to successfully defend the top positions of the two men's and women's soccer teams. The delegation has prepared well for the competitions and determined to achieve best results at the regional biggest sporting event.
Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh acknowledged and praised the efforts of athletes, coaches, experts, and leaders of the Vietnamese sports delegation. He noted that each member of the delegation should promote responsibility, solidarity, and determination to achieve the best results at the Games.
He suggested that the delegation should use the occasion to promote Vietnam’s good values to international friends, enhance solidarity and friendship, and exchange experience with guest teams. Each member should become a cultural ambassador of Vietnam, he stressed.
