Vietnamese Ambassador to India Ton Sinh Thanh said the event was one of a series of activities designed to celebrate the 45th founding anniversary of Vietnam-India diplomatic ties (January 7, 1972-2017), the 10th anniversary of the establishment of strategic partnership (July 2007-2017) and the 1st anniversary of comprehensive strategic partnership (September 2016-2017).
Thanh introduced to participants, including foreign diplomats, Indian officials and people and international friends, the diversity of Vietnam's cuisine, adding that they demonstrate the brilliant harmony and balance of ingredients and flavors that ensure a healthy lifestyle.
International friends can get an insight into Vietnam’s culinary culture in particular and the country’s culture in general through Vietnamese foods, he noted.
The ambassador also hoped the event will bring Vietnamese cuisine closer to Indian people and international friends.
During the event, the participants enjoyed traditional specialties prepared by Vietnamese chefs, who will stay for nine days to instruct chefs of Hyatt Regency Hotel how to cook Vietnamese dishes.
