The traditional dresses from eighty countries were presented at the traditional costumes event in southern Binh Duong province on June 22 as part of the ongoing 2008 Miss Universe 2008 contest currently being held in
Vietnam.
The eighty beautiful young girls looked very impressive in their traditional costumes of different styles and glamour attire.
Vietnamese viewers also had the chance to see the colourful and dazzling costumes of the South American countries.
The Ao dai (Vietnam’s traditional long dress) worn by Miss Vietnam Nguyen Thuy Lam was chosen as one of the top ten most beautiful traditional dresses. The others included Albania, Colombia, Dominica, India, Kosova, Mexico, Peru, South Africa and Venezuela.
The traditional costume event is considered an important part of the pageant since it aims to honour the traditional values of each country.
