PANO - The Ministry of Information and Communications kicked off the Autumn Book Festival 2016 on September 9 at Thong Nhat (Reunification) Park in Hanoi.

The event features over 70 booths with products from nearly 60 units across the country, namely books, postal services and other publications and printing works with educational and training values.

According to the organizing board, this year's event aimed to promote people’s reading habits, particularly among young people. It also contributes to generalizing publishing houses, and information and communications agencies and organizations.

The festival will also include exchanges between readers and authors, release of new publications, and workshops on culture, politics and history.

Notably, participants will have an exchange with famous Vietnamese mathematician Ngo Bao Chau, themed "Love for Math" as part of the festival.

The festival will run till September 13.
