At the closing ceremony, Minister of Indonesia National Disaster Management, Dodi Ruswandi highly appreciated countries' responsibility in implementing the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response, and stressed that the operational mechanisms agreed by the nations is the basis for the well-organized ARDEX-18. The countries have drawn a lot of common ideas in mobilizing the resources of the ASEAN community for disaster response.
The delegation of Vietnam's Ministry of National Defense completed all the tasks and strictly obeyed all foreign defense regulations during the exercise. Vietnam's active participation in ARDEX-18 was highly praised by the host and other ASEAN member countries. This is also an initial preparation for Vietnam to be ready to deploy forces in support of member countries in the region on request when the AADMER Agreement comes into force.
Accordingly, the host country handed over the authority to organize ARDEX activities and exercises in 2020 to the representative of the Government of the Philippines.
