The session approved various policies of Cambodia, with priority on the implementation of the CPP-led Government’s Rectangular Strategy – Phase IV that focuses on four strategic targets, namely maintaining annual economic growth of about 7 percent; creating jobs, especially for the young; reducing the poverty rate to under 10 percent; and improving public administrative capacity from central to local levels.

The spokesmen noted that the meeting also set targets and plans for the CPP to win elections of provincial/capital, municipal and district/Khan councils in May 2019.

The session also called on all people, political parties and social organisations to stand united under the constitution and the King to continue building and defending the country.

It took place in Phnom Penh from December 18, chaired by CPP President and Prime Minister of Cambodia Samdech Techo Hun Sen and CPP Honourary President and National Assembly President Samdech Heng Samrin, and gathered 3,164 CPP members, including 829 of the 865 members of the Central Committee and leaders of ministries, sectors and localities from across the country.
