Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai, Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard, and Senior Colonel Le Huy, Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, attended and directed the event.
The contest attracted over 90,000 students from 188 secondary schools across 44 communes and wards of Da Nang, Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, and Gia Lai. In the final round, 25 outstanding contestants representing five teams competed together.

The teams competed in four rounds: Sailing, Riding waves, Docking, and Placing sovereignty markers. The competition tested knowledge of international law, the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies on national sea and islands, drug prevention, and school violence. The performances highlighted youths’ deep understanding of the strategic role of Vietnam’s sea and islands, as well as the tradition of the Vietnam Coast Guard.
The event also featured an art exhibition themed “The Fatherland’s sea and islands and Coast Guard soldiers,” showcasing artworks that reflect students’ profound love for their homeland.
On this occasion, the organizing panel and sponsors presented 21 smart TVs to the participating schools to support their digital transformation efforts in education and training. Meaningful scholarships were also awarded to disadvantaged students to encourage their studies.

Senior Colonel Le Huy, Head of the organizing panel, emphasized that integrating intellectual challenges with practical experiences and social welfare activities has successfully nurtured patriotism, dedication, and a sense of responsibility toward protecting national maritime sovereignty among the younger generation.
At the conclusion of the contest, the first prize was awarded to the “Sao Bien” (Starfish) team from Quang Ngai. The second prizes went to “Hai Dang” (Lighthouse) from Quang Tri and “Hoang Sa” (Paracel) from Da Nang, while the third prizes were given to “Bien Dong” (East Sea) from Hue and “Bien Xanh” (Blue Sea) from Gia Lai.
