An overview of the contest |
Sixty students, representing over 600 students of Binh Dong Secondary School, participated in the event, during which they showed their knowledge of national sea and islands and the Vietnam Coast Guard Law.
The contest took place fiercely and at the end of the contest, four top students were named for the first, second, and third prizes.
Winning the first prize, Nguyen Bao Nhat, grade 7A, excitedly said, “The contest inspires us to love the national sea and islands more and helps us gain more knowledge of the national sea and islands and coast guards’ duties.”
Apart from understanding about the national sea and islands, during the contest, students also learned knowledge of drug prevention and control provided by officials from the Drug-related Crime Prevention and Control Department under the Coast Guard Region 2 Command.

The contest was part of the program “Coast guards support fishermen” launched by the Coast Guard Region 2 Command in Quang Ngai province. The program contributes to consolidating and strengthening the ties between troops and people, educating students to love national sea and islands.
On the occasion, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command presented 15 scholarships, each worth VND 1 million, and 15 bicycles to needy students with good academic records. It also gave gifts, totally worth VND 15 million, to disadvantaged fishermen in Binh Dong commune.
