Ha Long Bay attracting many international tourists
One of the province’s important cultural external events in 2023 was that last September, the provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee hosted a reception for 300 delegates representing 62 international and Vietnamese delegations attending the ninth Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians delegations to visit Ha Long Bay.

President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Mr. Duarte Pacheco and international young parliamentarians had a chance to enjoy the charming natural scenery of Ha Long Bay, as well as its unique culture, interesting cuisine, and artistic performances.
Speaking at the international event held in Ha Long Bay, Mr. Dang Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee, underscored that they considered it an opportunity to introduce the image of Quang Ninh and Ha Long Bay to the world.
Last September also marked a memorable event of the province as it had two sites honored with the World Travel Awards. Accordingly, the Van Don International Airport was recognized as the “Asia’s Leading Airport in 2023” while Premier Village Ha Long Bay Resort was awarded with the “Asia’s Leading Family Resort 2023.” Especially, Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba Islands were also named as the World Natural Heritage by UNESCO. So far, Ha Long Bay has been honored by UNESCO three times.
Further popularizing Quang Ninh’s image
According to Mr. Dinh Tho Phuc, Director of the Quang Ninh provincial Department of External Affairs, as a hub in the Red River Delta, Quang Ninh province attaches importance to spreading its image through different activities, such as external information dissemination, international cooperation in holding cultural activities, and investment and trade promotion.
Reportedly, so far, Quang Ninh has established cooperation with 15 foreign localities, built economic and trade relations with over 70 countries and territories worldwide and with many international organizations. It has also pro-actively participated in regional and international forums, such as East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Federation (EATOF); Quang Ninh - China Two Corridors, One Belt cooperation; Udon Thani (Thailand) - Luang Prabang (Laos) - Quang Ninh (Vietnam) Heritage Triangle, among others.
During his recent visit to Quang Ninh, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son emphasized that the province has much room for socio-economic development and integration in the region and the world. Therefore, in addition to promoting external affairs activities in politics and economy, the province should strengthen people-to-people exchange and cultural exchange programs, contributing to promoting its position in the international arena.
