The event is part of the ongoing City Partnership Forum – Da Nang 2025.

In his remarks, Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, underscored the city’s strategic focus on making tourism a key economic driver.

He highlighted Da Nang’s comprehensive efforts, including investments in modern infrastructure, diversification of tourism products and markets, and innovative promotional campaigns, which have yielded significant progress.

This seminar provides an opportunity to gather valuable insights and ideas from distinguished speakers and guests on strategies and solutions to enhance cooperation for sustainable tourism growth, Cuong said.

Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, praised Vietnam’s robust post-COVID-19 tourism recovery, with Da Nang emerging as a standout destination. He attributed the success to strong international cooperation and noted that Da Nang has built extensive bilateral partnerships with global cities to drive tourism development locally and nationally.

Sieu stressed that adopting advanced technologies is the fastest way to connect nations and expressed optimism that by 2025, Da Nang will attract more investors and foster effective tourism growth.

Tom Tate, Mayor of Australia's Gold Coast city, highlighted the 2020 memorandum of understanding between Gold Coast and Da Nang, which established the two localities' friendly and cooperative relationship. He said the agreement has opened doors for economic collaboration across multiple sectors.

Tate stressed that international partnerships are key to a city’s development and success, fostering cultural understanding, enhancing trade and investment opportunities, and building enduring relationships with other cities.

Participants at the seminar shared insights on international collaboration, state tourism management, and the development of distinctive tourism products. They also discussed solutions to strengthen effective cooperation among localities.

Da Nang’s leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening ties with international partner cities, expanding investment opportunities, enhancing tourism offerings, and improving the overall quality of tourism experiences.

They pledged to remain a reliable partner, fostering mutual learning and developing sustainable relationships in the tourism sector.
