At the same time, an SUV also stopped and three people got out, together with Tai, rescued the passenger car. Suddenly, soil and rocks fell down from above. Tai promptly shouted: "There's a landslide, let's run" and everyone quickly ran away. At this moment Tai saw a 7-year-old girl standing alone, screaming while rocks and soil were pouring down. He quickly pulled her out of the scene.
After taking the distressed girl to a safer place, Tai, together with some other young people, came back to the scene of the landslide to rescue other victims. Nearing the scene, he saw another landslide burying all members on the passenger car and three people from the SUV.
A few minutes later, the functional forces arrived at the scene, and Tai helped them to search and rescue the victims. They then found four victims, luckily they were still alive. The victims were quickly taken to hospital for further treatment.
Tai’s motorbike was also under soil and rocks. It was then found by the rescue team but it could not work anymore.
In acknowledgement of his bravery, Tai’s company presented him with a new motorbike.
On July 17, during the “Determined-to-win” congress in 2019-2024 period of Viettel Group, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong hailed Tai for his noble deed.
