The Partnership for Global Health System Sustainability and Resilience (PHSSR) was launched by the WEF, the London School of Economics (LSE) and British biopharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca.

The project aims to help health systems foresee, prevent, and adapt to global health challenges that our world is facing.

British Ambassador Gareth Ward introduces the project at the launching ceremony.

In its pilot phase, expected to run until January next year, the PHSSR will be implemented in eight countries.

Vietnam was chosen for its unique health system experiences and expertise, including its effective Covid-19 response.

The Vietnamese research team will apply a new framework developed by the LSE to conduct a quick survey on the sustainability and resilience of the domestic health system, thereby identifying and enhancing practical solutions for the benefit of the Vietnamese people.

According to British Ambassador to Vietnam Gareth Ward, the exchange of knowledge and experience will help the U.K. and Vietnam strengthen the health systems of each country and be better prepared for health crises that may arise in the future.
