Accordingly, all eight Vietnamese students at the event brought home medals, including one gold, one silver and six bronzes.

Among them, student Than The Cong, a 12th grader of the Bac Giang Gifted High School in the Northern province of the same name, successfully pocketed the gold medal. The silver medal went to student Ha Duyen Phuc, another 12th grader of the Lam Son Gifted High School in the Central province of Thanh Hoa.

The six bronze medals were awarded to students from Hanoi, Hai Phong city, and the provinces of Nghe An, Bac Giang, and Thanh Hoa.

The 2024 APhO was held in Malaysia from June 3-10, bringing together 28 teams with 208 contestants from 27 countries and territories worldwide.

The contestants took the exam for two days with a test time of five hours a day. The theoretical test was based on modern and practical applications of physics, such as fountains, fiber optics, and research results published in the renowned journal Nature on astrophysics.

Meanwhile, the experimental part involved experiments with gyroscopes, highlighting their practical applications in precise positioning for maritime aviation and self-balancing devices.
