Summer Volunteer Campaign to kick off in June
The Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee announced its plan for the upcoming summer voluntary campaign, which runs from June 3 to August 31.
The campaign will feature various programs, including supporting candidates for national university entrance exams, building public facilities and joining blood donation events, among others.
The localities set to benefit are disadvantages districts, islands, border communes and polluted areas across 28 coastal provinces and cities.
The three-month campaign aims to fix 1,000 km and build 120 km of rural roads, keep 100 clean streets in urban areas and offer free medicine and treatment to 500,000 people.
Its goals also cover raising funds for the construction of 100 charity houses and training 10,000 rural youths’ startup skills. In the 28 coastal provinces and cities, beach-cleaning activities will be held at least once a week.
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has made the summer voluntary campaign an annual activity.
