Present at the closing ceremony were Truong Hoa Binh, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen Hoa Binh, Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court; Thuan Huu, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Education and Information, President of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association and Editor-in-Chief of the Nhan dan (People) Newspaper; and leaders from the central and local sectors and agencies.
Themed “Vietnamese press - innovation, creativity and responsibility for national and people’s interests,” this year’s event was not only a chance to honor achievements of the press agencies nationwide and popularize journalism products to the community, but also a cultural venue for the people in the capital city of Hanoi. Thousands of visitors flocked to the event to look for their favorite newspapers and media pieces, and exchange with journalists.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ho Quang Loi, Permanent Vice-President of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, stressed that the festival reaffirmed the key role and the strong development of the Vietnam revolutionary press over the past time while promoting a closer relationship between the press and media and audiences.
At the closing ceremony, the organizers presented 76 prizes to participating booths with impressive decoration, 43 prizes to the featured Tet (Lunar New Year) radio and television programs, 20 other prizes to the online newspapers with attractive Tet layout, and 49 for the outstanding reports about environment.
Notably, the military press pavilion was granted the A prize for its impressive layout. The People’s Army Newspaper received an A prize for the nice cover of its Tet publications, a C prize for the good report on its printed edition and a consolation prize for the report on its online edition.
According to the organizing panel, all participating publications will be handed over to the naval and border troops.
