The vaccine is among the three million doses of the Moderna mRNA vaccine that the U.S. has donated to Vietnam through the COVAX Facility.

According to Colonel Hoang Minh Nhue, commanding officer of the brigade, four specialized vehicles, drivers and technicians were mobilized to take the mission of transporting the above-mentioned vaccine sum.

“This is the first transportation of vaccine that the brigade has conducted for the national inoculation program,” said Senior Colonel Nguyen Manh Huan, the unit’s political commissar.

After being checked by the institute, the vaccine doses will be taken to military-run storage facilities before going to vaccination stations in late July.

Earlier, at 3am on July 25, Brigade 972 of the Transportation Department safely transported and handed over 1.5 million doses of the U.S. donated Moderna vaccine to a relevant agency in Ho Chi Minh City.
