Japanese government provides humanitarian aid for Thua Thien - Hue flood-hit victims
PANO – Representatives of the Vietnam Disaster Management Authority under Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Department, the Consulate Office of Japan in Da Nang, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Da Nang chapter of the Vietnam Airport Ground Services Co., Ltd. held a ceremony on October 19 to receive assistance from the Japanese Government.
The donations aimed to help people in Central Vietnam who are severely affected by storms No.6 (Linfa) and No.7 (Nangka) earlier this month. The Japanese Government provided the humanitarian aid for locals in Thua Thien - Hue province through the JICA.
The aid, including 50 water purifiers and 250 plastic carpets, aimed to help flood-hit people overcome the consequences of natural disasters and resume their normal life.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Government, representatives of the Central Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control – Vietnam Disaster Management Authority received the assistance from the Japanese Government.
Meanwhile, they will also work with the Thua Thien – Hue provincial Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, and Search and Rescue to deliver the relief aid to flood-hit people as soon as possible.
