PANO - The Vietnam Children Protection Fund in association with the provincial People’s Committee of Ha Giang on November 19 granted 200 scholarships to needy children in Viet Lam commune, Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang province.

At the event, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, who is also the Chair of the Patronage Council for the Vietnam Children Protection Fund, presented the scholarships (worth VND 1 million each) to 200 needy children in the locality.

The scholarship-for-needy-children program of the Vietnam Children Protection Fund was first lauched in 1993 with the aim to creating favorable conditions as well as ensuring fundamental conditions for poor children to study and develop. Since then, the program has donated billions of VND to thousands of needy children nationwide.

On the sidelines of the program, the Vice President also handed over gifts to 30 households, including 20 policy beneficiaries and 10 outstanding teachers in the commune.
