Collectives, individuals honored for supporting COVID-19 fight in HCM City
Organizations and individuals of working groups who have assisted the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Ho Chi Minh City were honored at a ceremony held by the municipal Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of the city on October 8.
Addressing the event, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen appreciated the timely support of organizations and individuals, saying that during the most difficult time of the fight against COVID-19, the locality received valuable assistance of nearly 30,000 people nationwide.
These forces have worked closely with the Party Committee and people of HCM City in the fight, reducing the number of COVID-19 infections and fatalities, thereby helping the city gradually control the pandemic.
On behalf of the municipal Party Committee and people, Nen thanked the leadership and direction of the Party, State and VFF, the ministries of Health, Defense, and Public Security, religious organizations, domestic and international organizations, doctors, medical workers, and volunteers for their support for HCM City in recent times.
On the occasion, the Chairman of municipal People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to 55 organizations and badges of the city to 115 individuals for their contributions to the locality’s COVID-19 prevention and control.
