This was the first walking program organized for the health of laborers. Alongside the walk, participants received gifts, health consultations, discounted shopping opportunities, and enjoyed art performances. The organizers, in collaboration with the Nguoi lao dong (The Laborer Newspaper), awarded 100 scholarships, worth VND 1 million each, to children of laborers facing difficulties. Additionally, 50 Tet gifts (each comprising VND 1 million in cash and goods) were given to 50 workers in Thu Duc City.
According to Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Labor Federation Pham Chi Tam, the walking program accompanied the vibrant, joyful, and healthy atmosphere welcoming the lunar New Year 2024. It aimed to encourage Trade Union members and laborers to actively engage in sports activities, enhance self-discipline in physical exercise, and ensure their good health. The organizers also mobilized organizations and individuals to work together in intensifying regular care for Trade Union members and laborers facing difficulties.
A large number of Trade Union members, workers, and their families actively participated in the walking program. During this event, various units, enterprises, groups and individuals pledged to support over VND 3 billion to disadvantaged and seriously-ill workers during the Tet festival.
