5 billion VND donated for COVID-19-hit children in HCMC
PANO – President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien, on October 29, handed over 5 billion VND to Secretary of the HCM City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen.
The donation, taken from the National Fund called “For the Poor,” aims to support children orphaned by the COVID-19 pandemic in Ho Chi Minh City.

Receiving the donation, Secretary of the HCM City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen expressed his deep thanks to the VFF Central Committee for its wholehearted care for pandemic-hit children in the city.
On behalf of HCM City’s government and the people, he sent deep thanks to the Vietnamese people at home and abroad, international friends, and the VFF committees at all levels for assisting the city in the fight against COVID-19 over the past times.
As the pandemic is still developing complicatedly, the city and other provinces and cities nationwide are facing difficult challenges. However, the city’s government would do their utmost to both ensure safety of the people and quickly restore the economy in accordance with the Government’s Resolution No.128 on the safe and flexible adaptation in the new normal state, he added.
Sharing the difficulties with HCM City, President of the VFF Central Committee Do Van Chien spoke highly of the great efforts of the city’s political system in the COVID-19 battle, affirming that the VFF system from the central to local levels will continue to mobilize all resources to take care of orphaned children and vulnerable people, especially ensuring a happy and safe a lunar New Year for them.
