Vietnam always respects, protects and promotes the rights of its people
PANO - On April 28, in reply to a reporter’s question on Vietnam’s response to the Annual Human Rights Report 2021 of the U.S. Department of State, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy of respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of its citizens.
Vietnam’s efforts and achievements in the field have been recognized and highly appreciated by the international community, she added.

Though the report acknowledges Vietnam’s achievements in the protection of human rights, it still contains some biased statements based on inaccurate information and does not reflect the real situation in Vietnam, she said.
Vietnam is willing to discuss with the U.S. on issues of mutual concern in the spirit of construction, frankness, openness, and mutual respect, contributing to strengthening mutual understanding and developing the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the U.S., the spokesperson concluded.
