The State funeral for President Tran Dai Quang is held at the National Funeral Hall, 5 Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi

Family members of President Tran Dai Quang led by his wife Nguyen Thi Hien were the first to offer incense and flowers to their beloved.

The respect-paying ceremony in Hanoi witnessed delegations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The delegation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was the first to pay homage to the late President. On behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong wrote in the funeral book, “Deeply mourning over comrade Tran Dai Quang, a Politburo member, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, a leader with various contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party, State and people, especially to the People’s Public Security Forces, and to national construction and protection.”

The event also saw a delegation of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam led by Chairperson Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; the acting President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh; a delegation of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam led by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; a delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front led by Vice President and Secretary General Hau A Lenh.

A delegation from the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense led by Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich, and other delegation of Central agencies, ministries, localities across the country, organizations, and people from all walks of life, as well as international delegations also came to the National Funeral Hall, and paid homage to President Tran Dai Quang.

Meanwhile, leaders of countries and territories worldwide and international organizations sent condolences over President Tran Dai Quang to the Party, State, National Assembly, Government and people of Vietnam and his family.
