The central province of Quang Tri on August 22 hosted a ceremony to review 17 years of the search for remains of Vietnamese revolutionary soldiers in Laos.
According to reports at the ceremony, more than 2,200 sets of remains of Vietnamese soldiers who died in Laos, were repatriated during the 1994-2011 period.
Of the remains, 103 sets were identified by name and native place, 74 sets were identified by only name.
Also during the period, search teams from Quang Tri’s military command, in combination with the relevant agencies and people across the province found 2,039 sets of remains of Vietnamese revolutionary soldiers and laid them to rest at the local martyrs’ cemeteries.
