Party General Secretary To Lam pays pre-Tet visit to former Party chief
Party General Secretary To Lam on February 2 paid a visit and extended Lunar New Year greetings to former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and his family, on the occasion of the 96th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – 2026) and the successful 14th National Party Congress.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam expressed sincere thanks to former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh for his continued attention and valuable contributions to the Party and the State in recent years.
He briefed the former leader on the country’s situation over the past year and the major strategic decisions adopted by the 14th National Party Congress, highlighting the long-term vision and strong renewal of the Party’s leadership methods, with the people at the center, the people as the foundation, and the happiness and well-being of the people as the highest goal of development.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the 14th-tenure Party Central Committee, Politburo and Secretariat will remain united and determined in effectively implementing the congress’s Resolution from the very first months of 2026. He also expressed his hope to continue receiving the attention, wisdom and valuable contributions of former Party and State leaders to the cause of national renewal and development in the new period.
Expressing his delight at the country’s important socio-economic achievements over the past year, former General Secretary Manh voiced his full confidence in the 14th Party Central Committee. He stressed that under the wise leadership of the Party and the unity of the entire Party, people and armed forces, Vietnam will continue to achieve new accomplishments in the next stage of development, successfully fulfilling the goals and tasks set for 2026 and creating momentum to realize the two centennial development goals ahead.
