Nha Trang sea city.

As many as 100,000 trees have been planted on Hon Noi island as part of a programme designed to protect the environment in the Nha Trang Bay.

The programme “Planting one million trees on the islands in Nha Trang Bay” was launched by Khanh Hoa Salangane’s Nest Company since 2012 with the support from authorities in the central province of Khanh Hoa.

Phase two of the programme was carried out in Hon Noi island on June 14 in coordination with local authorities as well as over 200 officials and employees from Khanh Hoa Salangane’s Nest Company.

Planting trees on the islands is not only to protect the environment and respond to climate change, but to create better habitats and food sources for the wild birds and other animals on the islands, as well as enhancing businesses’ consciousness of green development, said the company’s programme management board.

The programme’s phase one saw some 150,000 trees planted last year.
