At the event, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh gave a briefing on the international and regional situations which are directly related to the military and defense task performance, the whole military’s guarantee of political security, observance of military discipline and State’s laws over the past time.

Participants heard reports delivered by the Department of Legal Affairs under the MND on the agenda of the 15th N.A.’s sixth session, and draft laws to be considered, opined, and approved by the legislative body; on the progress of MND-edited draft laws which are about to be submitted to the N.A. for opinions and approval in this year; on draft laws that the MND plans to submit their dossiers to the N.A. for approval in 2024 and for start of editing in 2025; and on other draft laws related to military and defense.
Draft laws on the management and protection of defense works and military regions; defense industry, security and industrial mobilization; and land (amended) were also presented at the event.
On hearing reports and opinions, in his concluding speech, General Luong Cuong praised relevant agencies and units for their thorough preparations of contents for the meeting, and delegates for their quality and responsible opinions. He asked N.A. deputies in the military to complete their duties both at the 15th N.A.’s sixth session, and in their units.
He emphasized that in this session, the legislative body will consider and approve the draft law on the management and protection of defense works and military zones and give opinions on the draft law on defense industry, security and industrial mobilization. He added that next year, the MND will continue to review the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People’s Army, regulations on states of emergency and overcoming of post-war consequences.

The GDP director requested N.A. deputies to promote their role, responsibility, knowledge to contribute to the development of contents of the MND-edited draft laws and ordinances and actively give opinions to protect the interests of officers and soldiers in the whole military.
N.A. deputies were also asked to exercise the N.A.’s regulations, comply with regulations of speech, ensure state and military secrets, and give clear opinions in accordance with the Central Military Commission and MND’s views and regulations.
