PANO - The Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union held a ceremony on January 1st to honour 7 outstanding young citizens of 2013, in the presence of Mrs. Truong My Hoa, former Vice State President, Mr. Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Mr. Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.

The seven outstanding young citizens include Nguyen Duong Kim Hao, a young talented student from Nguyen Gia Thieu Secondary School of Tan Binh district, has won several awards for creativity.

Pham Tuan Huy, a 12th grade student from Ho Chi Minh City’s High School for Gifted Students of Vietnam National University, who has won many prestigious prizes on Mathematics.

Sergeant Major Nguyen Chi Thanh, a staff member of the city Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department, has actively participated in many rescue missions over the year.

Athlete Chau Tuyet Van of Ton Duc Thang University, who won a Taekwondo gold medal in SEA Games 2013 and other medals.

Other awardees include Nguyen Hoang Trung, who is the best farmer of Cu Chi district, and Dang Hieu Hong, a member of the city Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, who has been well known for his devotion to patients.

The final awardee is Truong Anh Van, from the Thong Nhat Rubber Limited Company, who has contributed many ideas and inventions to helping cut costs and brought billions of VND for the company.
