Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem will lead the Vietnamese delegation at the 8th ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, which will take place in Hamburg, Germany, on May 28-29.
This will be the largest Foreign Ministers’ Meeting of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) since the group was set up in March 1996.
The event will be attended by foreign ministers from 43 ASEM member countries, the European Commissioner for External Relations and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations General Secretary.
ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting is held every two years between ASEM summits in order to review ASEM cooperation, discuss international issues, and put forth policies for ASEM cooperation.
During the 8th meeting, Deputy PM Khiem is scheduled to have bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of some ASEM member countries to discuss measures to boost cooperation.
