PANO - General Ngo Xuan Lich, member of the Politburo and Minister of National Defense, and other National Assembly (NA) deputies representing Ha Nam province met with local voters in Kim Bang district and Phu Ly city on November 25.

At the meeting, General Lich and Tran Xuan Hung, deputy head of the Ha Nam provincial NA deputies' delegation, briefed the voters on the outcomes of the 14th NA's second session. Accordingly, the provincial NA deputies brought into play their roles and responsibilities and proposed practical ideas, contributing to the success of the session. The defense minister and local NA deputies answered questions raised by the voters and pledged to summit their recommendations to the next NA session.
In addition, Defense Minister Lich also briefed the voters on the international and domestic situation, the results of national defense and military tasks as well as the building of a revolutionary, standard, elite and gradually modern army. He stressed that the Military Central Commission and the Ministry of National Defense have exactly predicted and given timely and effective advices to the Party, the State, the Government and the National Assembly on national defense issues over the past time. All troops have always promoted the traditions and virtues of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", building a strong force in terms of political stance, contributing to fulfilling all assigned missions.
On behalf of the Military Central Commission, the senior officer praised the local authorities and people for their support to the local armed forces, especially in taking good care of soldiers' families, educating defense-military knowledge for locals and building firm whole people’s defense and people’s war postures.
On this occasion, the defense minister offered incense and laid wreaths at the Kim Bang district's War Martyrs Memorial and handed over 20 gifts to local Vietnamese heroic mothers and policy beneficiaries.
