PANO – President Truong Tan Sang on January 31st led the outstanding overseas Vietnamese (OVs) to offer incense to ancestors at Kinh Thien palace - Thang Long ancient citadel.
The OVs delegates are joining the program “Homeland Spring 2016 – Sacred Hanoi” co-held by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the People’s Committee of Hanoi.

After the offering, the President and the OVs released birds, showing the aspiration for peace for Vietnam and the whole world.
Earlier the same day, the delegation of OVs joined the incense offering and release carps at the President Ho Chi Minh Relic site in the Presidential Palace and visited Van Phuc traditional silk village in Ha Dong district.
As scheduled, President Truong Tan Sang is to send Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings and join an exchange with OVs at an art program themed “Homeland Spring 2016 – Sacred Hanoi.” The program will be aired live on VTV1 and VTV4 at 8pm January 31st.
The program “Homeland Spring” held annually by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs brings a chance for OVs to visit the Fatherland and observe traditional Tet holiday, showing the Vietnamese spirit of national unity.
