Overseas Vietnamese businesspeople in France gathered in Paris on November 26 to mark the 1st anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Entrepreneurs Association.
The association aims to serve as a bridge to help Vietnamese businesses in France, mostly small and medium-sized enterprises, contact relevant agencies in Vietnam to seek investment and business opportunities in the country.
Nguyen Hai Nam, founder and President of the Vietnam Entrepreneurs Association in France, said over the past year, the association has admitted 50 new members and accepted 30 projects in different areas. Especially, the Association officially signed a memorandum of understanding on comprehensive cooperation with the Vietnam Chamber of Industry and Commerce (VCCI).
He emphasized the need to provide entrepreneurs with useful information on Vietnam’s policies and laws.
Yves Bladin, a member of the association said that he has looked for business opportunities in many Asian nations including Singapore and Malaysia, and finally found Vietnam the most attractive and a dynamic nation with friendly people and beautiful scenery. Despite the global economic downturn, Vietnam has maintained a stable economic growth.
On the occasion, overseas Vietnamese businesses and representatives from the Vietnamese embassy in France held talks on opportunities and challenges facing investors in Vietnam. It was agreed that Vietnam has a favourable investment environment with preferential policies for businesses operating in the country but there remain some snags to overcome in administrative legal matters.
