Political Commissar of the Nghe An provincial Military Command Senior Colonel Phan Van Dong presents gifts to three Lao provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane, Saysombun.

The event was jointly held by the special missions of three Lao provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane, Saysombun and the Vietnamese province of Nghe An.

The remains were collected by the Search and Collection Team under the Nghe An provincial Military Command in the three Lao provinces in the 2021-2022 dry season despite numerous difficulties and hardships.

Addressing the handover ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Nghe An provincial People’s Committee Bui Dinh Long, who is also head of Nghe An province’s special mission, thanked party committees, authorities, armed forces, and people of Laos in general and of the three aforementioned Lao provinces in particular for their sentiments and wholehearted support.

The Vietnamese official hoped to receive more support from the Party, State, Government, military and people of the neighboring country and especially its three provinces. He wished the Lao side will continue to create favorable conditions and assist Nghe An province's search and collection team in terms of spirit and material support, vehicles, forces, security and information to help the team collect remains of fallen troops, contributing to the team’s duty fulfillment.

On the occasion, the Party Committee, authorities, departments, organizations, armed forces, Buddhist monks and nuns and followers, local people and overseas Vietnamese living in Xieng Khouang province organized a requiem to bid farewell to the freshly-collected remains of fallen Vietnamese troops and advisers.
