Senior Lieutenant General Do Can, Member of National Steering Board 515 cum Deputy Head of the Government’s Special Working Group and Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs, attended the event.

During the 2021-2022 dry season, the martyr remain search and collection team of the Nghe An provincial Military Command has closely worked with the authorities of the Lao provinces of Xiengkhuang, Vientiane, and Xaysomboun to find and repatriate 103 sets of remains of fallen soldiers who were Vietnamese soldiers and advisors doing international service in Laos.

Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Nghe An provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long underscored that many Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors laid down their lives while doing international service in Laos. Their sacrifice contributed to the revolutionary cause of the two countries, promoting the Vietnam-Laos great friendship and special solidarity.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegates and people offered incense in tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed for the defense of the Fatherland and performed noble international duties. After the ceremony, the 103 sets of remains of fallen soldiers were reburied at a war cemetery in Nghi Loc district of Nghe An province.

The People’s Army Newspaper would like to present some images of the ceremony.
