Gia Lai holds memorial and burial service for five fallen soldiers
PANO - On March 25, the Department of Home Affairs of Gia Lai province, the Department of Political Affairs of Army Corps 34 and the People’s Committee of Chu Pah district (Gia Lai province) jointly held a memorial and burial service for five martyrs at the Gia Lai provincial war cemetery.
Earlier, as part of the first-quarter 2025 plan for the search and collection of martyrs’ remains, from March 10 to 18, the search and collection team for martyrs’ remains under the Department of Political Affairs of Army Corps 34 conducted surveys and search in the Chu Pa mountainous area (Gia Lai province).
At two locations, a total of five sets of martyrs’ remains were discovered. All remains were in a state of decomposition, with only bone fragments left. Their belongings included military hammocks, parachute fabric, ropes, buttons, iron bowls, rubber sandal soles, handmade aluminum spoons, AK magazines, AK bullets, and others.
