The delegation visited and presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Tran Thi Be, the family of martyr Doan Duc Thang in Dang Hai ward, Hai An district and the family of martyr Pham Van Huy in Tien Thanh commune, Tien Lang district.

Heroic Vietnamese Mother Tran Thi Be is now 105 years old. His two sons, Bui Thanh Tung and Bui Xuan Tinh respectively laid down their lives in 1968 and 1972 in the resistance war against U.S. imperialists. In 2014, she was conferred with the title of the Heroic Vietnamese Mother by the State. Over the past time, she has been taken care by the Coast Guard Region 1 Command.

Doan Duc Thang and Pham Van Huy are former staff of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command. They all laid down their lives while conducting law enforcement in the Gulf of Tokin.

During the visit, Maj. Gen. Tran Van Xuan inquired after and expressed deep gratitude to and admiration for sacrifices of the fallen soldiers. He said that they are bright examples for troops in the whole military and people to follow.

The vice political commissar said that over the past time the Coast Guard’s Party Committee has pro-actively coordinated with local party committees and authorities to effectively carry out gratitude work. Coast guard troops have considered the work their sentiment and responsibility to national contributors and policy families in the stationed localities.
