Gifts presented to victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Hung Yen province
PANO - As many as 110 gifts were presented to victims of Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin in Hung Yen province in a program held on August 11 with the participation of a Ministry of National Defense mission, led by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, the Vietnam Association for Victims of AO/Dioxin (VAVA) Central Committee, the Military Region 3 Command and Hung Yen provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and Committee.

At the event, Gen. Chien, Hung Yen provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Huu Nghia and other leaders of VAVA and Military Region 3 Command inquired after and presented gifts to 40 victims in Phu Cu district, 50 victims in Kim Dong district, and 20 victims in Hung Yen city.
Addressing the program, Gen. Chien shared the pains and losses that AO victims daily suffer from. He hoped that the small gifts would help ease part of their AO pains. The gift presentation, as the deputy defense minister said, demonstrated the national tradition “when drinking water, remember its source.”
He asked military units stationed in the locality to well perform their advisory role, pro-actively join hands with the local Party committee and authorities to give support to and take care of AO victims.

On the occasion, the Ministry of National Defense decided to present a gratitude house to the family of AO victim Duong Van Thua in Hiep Cuong commune, Kim Dong district. Another gratitude house was presented to the family of AO victim Luu Quang Le in Quang Hung commune, Phu Cu district by VAVA.
