GDP commemorates forerunner of Defense Trade Union Board in Bac Kan province
PANO – A mission of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army on March 3 offered incense at the memorial stele in commemoration of the Trade Union chapter of the Vietnamese weaponry sector, the forerunner of the present Defense Trade Union Board in Cho Moi district, Bac Kan province.
The event was chaired by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, Deputy Chief of the GDP, with an aim of marking the 75th foundation day of the Defense Trade Union Board (March 6, 1949 - 2024).

Accordingly, on March 6, 1949, in Yen Dinh commune, Cho Moi district, the Vietnamese weaponry trade union was established. Under the leadership of the Party, the GDP and the instruction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the trade union and its members joined the whole people to participate in the resistance wars against foreign invaders and the cause of national construction and protection.

Since then, a number of trade organizations in the military has been granted with noble orders by the Party, State, military, and other levels.
On this occasion, the delegation planted green trees around the memorial stele and gave gifts to nearly 100 need people and policy beneficiaries in the locality.

These deeds aimed to pay tribute to those who made contribution to the country’s revolutionary cause, take further care of policy families, and at the same time promote civilian-military ties.
